MICHAEL COLLINS
Wait, Michael. Wait. Till the next time.
***
I am ready for what comes. The Irish Republic is a dream no longer. It is daily sealed by the lifeblood of those who proclaimed it. And everyone of us they shoot bring more people to our side. They cannot imprison us forever. And from the day of our release, Michael,we must act as if the Republic is a fact. We defeat the British Empire by ignoring it.
***
I disagree.
***
I am serious, Michael.
***
MC: F***'s sake!
Eamon: Mind your language!
MC: The bleeding key broke!
Eamon: I'll try mine.
MC: You can't this f***ing keyhole's jammend!
Eamon: That's no excuse for obscenities.
***
All I'm misisng is the high heels
***
There are certian things one should not do for one's country.
***
Our job is where I say it is!
***
MC: I can't run a war without Harry Boland!
Eamon: "You could run it without me.
***
We'll see who is the Big Fella.
***
There is a slim possibility that they may want to talk. But our tactics allowed the British press to paint us as murderers. If we are to negotiate as legitimate goverment our armed forces must act as legitimate army.
***
They call us murderers!
***
I propose an assault on the administrative center of British rule in Irleand: The Customs House.
***
Eamon: We need to keep a final arbitrator in reserve.
MC: And that'll be you.
Eamon: That will be the Irish People!... And me... as president of the Irish Republic.
***
What would you know about peace?
***
There is one thing I want to say. I wanted to go to the country and to the world. And it is this : The Irish people established the Republic. It can only be disetablished by the Irish people.
***
This treaty bars the way to the Republic with the blood of fellow Irishmen! And if it is only with civil war that we can get our Independance then so be it!
